What the Heck Are Comics? (Hint: more than just pictures with speech bubbles)
Join award-winning cartoonist and visual storyteller Aśka for a lively and dynamic evening celebrating the release of the YA graphic novel, “The Friendship Paradox”.
This interactive, part hands-on session explores the world of graphic novels - one of the most beautiful, complex, and often misunderstood literary forms of our time.
Discover the science behind HOW comics work, how they shape meaning through the interplay of image and text, and why they’re redefining contemporary storytelling. Aśka will also share insights into her own creative process, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how a graphic novel comes to life.
You’ll then have the chance to try it for yourself in a short, hands-on activity designed for complete beginners and seasoned doodlers alike. No artistic skills required - just curiosity.
